Being sued by Handyman in Modesto Ca?

The handyman whats more $ after signing "I have received last payment" & left threatening voice mails. 1. I know where you live I know when or home when you leave. 2. I got keys to your house pay me the f@#king money.

His work wasn't that good either a couple of noticeable mistakes and he didn't really clean up besides light sweeping I got video and pictures to showing it.

What is my legal standing? I had set up a day where he could show me proof that I owe him and he didn't show. This has stressed me out to the point I don't want to leave the house answer the phone I can't sleep and I lost weight.
